MAMA'S TURKEY MEATBALLS

These turkey meatballs are lean and delicious! Cut down on the calories and try using a leaner source of meat. These turkey meatballs use 93% lean ground turkey.

Ingredients:


  •   1 TBS olive oil
  •   ½ cup onion
  •   2 cloves garlic minced
  •   2-3LBS 93% lean ground turkey or higher.
  •   2 eggs ( or 2 TBS + 6 tbsp. of warm water for flax egg if dairy free)
  •   ½ Cup Breadcrumbs ( gluten free if applicable)
  •   1/3 Cup Parsley
  •   1 tbsp oregano
  •   1 tbsp basil
  •   To taste Black Pepper
  •   1/3-1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese ( GO veggie parm if dairy free)


Directions:


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In a small nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat.
  3. When oil is hot, add onion and garlic and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. 
  4. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well using your hands or a wooden spoon.
  5. Shape into meatballs. Bake on greased cookie sheet (olive oil spray) for 15 minutes. Turn. Cook 15 minutes more. Bake until brown approximately 30 minutes or 165-degree internal temperature. 


* this recipe will make 22-25 meatballs depending on what size you make them.


Tips/ Tricks: Make these meatballs at the beginning of the week and enjoy them throughout the week! These are so delicious and kid friendly! You can pair these meatballs with any of our delicious healthy recipes.
