Vegan Grilled Cheese

Ingredients Quantity
Whole Wheat Bread or Gluten Free Bread 2
Original Smart Balance butter 1-2TBS
*Vegan Cheese Slices 1

Directions:


  1. Warm skillet/pan with 1tsp of dairy free smart balance original butter or cooking spray.
  2. Spread 1 tablespoon butter on each slice of bread.
  3. Place the butter side down on the skillet/pan
  4. Unwrap cheese slice from packaging*
  5.  Add 1 slice of bread, butter side down.  Place cheese on top. Top with the second slice of bread. Cook until bread is golden and cheese is starting to melt, about 2 minutes*
  6. Repeat for the second sandwich, wiping skillet/pan clean if necessary. 

Tips: 

Go Veggie American slices and Dairy Free Gouda are our favorite cheeses to use to make this dairy free grilled cheese! We like to lower the heat to low/medium and cover the grilled cheese as it is cooking. The cheese melts perfectly this way! Pair this with our Tomato soup for a classic quick lunch or dinner! The kids will not be able to tell the difference!
